MVSD Update - Remote Learning Jan. 4-15, 2021

Remote Learning for Gr. 7-12 beginning Jan. 4, 2021

Dec. 2: The MB government announced that students in Gr. 7 to 12 will move to remote learning for a two-week period from Jan. 4 to 15. Optional remote learning will also be available to kindergarten to Grade 6 students during this period should families wish to keep their children at home following the holiday break. MVSD Community Report 2019-2020

Mountain View School Division has released its 2019-2020 Community Report, which highlights progress made towards the 2016-2021 Division Plan. Electronic and/or printed copies of the report will be distributed to families via schools.  Printed copies will also be available upon request at local schools and the Division Office.  For more information, please contact the Division Office at (204) 638-3001.

Updated School Calendar - Non-Instructional Days

As COVID-19 continues to present unique challenges, new changes to the 2020/21 school year calendar were announced on Nov. 9, 2020 by the Province of Manitoba. The following changes will provide teachers additional professional development and collaborative planning time as they work to adapt to student needs due to COVID-19. Schools in MVSD will be closed to students on the following dates for staff PD and collaborative planning time: Thurs., Nov. 26, 2020, Mon., Dec. 7, 2020 and Mon., Feb. 8, 2021. Free WiFi for Students

Free Wi-Fi is offered once again in every MVSD community for students who are engaging in online learning! The service is available Mon-Fri from 8 am - 8 pm. Students are asked to remain in their vehicles while working on assignments to abide by social distancing guidelines. Click on the link for hotspot locations.

Critical Level - Red Response Effective Nov. 12

On Nov. 10, Premier Pallister and Dr. Roussin (Chief Public Health Officer) announced that effective Thursday, Nov. 12, all of Manitoba is being placed into Critical Level – Red within Manitoba’s Pandemic Response System.  There are no announced changes to the operation of schools at this time, with the exception of a suspension of after school extra-curriculars, including athletic activities.
